Sharing More Excerpts

I am so proud of my ebooks, though not many people are reading them. Here is an excerpt from:

Work From Home: Can You Do It All?

I hope that you enjoy it and share it with others! I have decided to share two chapters that go well together!

Working From Home Is a Dream

Many people dream about working from home.

They think about working in their pajamas (or comfortable clothes) while accomplishing a lot of work. They dream about getting rid of their fancy dress clothes that are very uncomfortable to wear.

They dream about working while taking care of their children. They won’t need to spend a lot of money on daycare anymore since they will be home to watch their own children!

They think about having a cleaner home since they will have time to fit the housework in between their work.

Many people dread their commute, so nothing sounds better than staying home. They won’t have to deal with the dreadful traffic. They will have a lot more time since they won’t waste time commuting to work. Many people drive an hour or so back and forth to work. Think about all of that extra time. They won’t have the gas expense that they are used to, so they will have more money in their pocket!

Many people hate their boss, so it sounds like a dream to own a business, so that they can be their own boss. They can pick and choose when they work, instead of being told when to work, and they can make appointments without having to take a day off.

They dream of shopping in the afternoon when the stores won’t be as busy.

Working from home can be a dream for many people!

But Not For Everyone

Even though most people dream about working from home, it is not a reality for most of them.

There are many traits needed to be able to work from home (and do it successfully). This is especially true if you start your own business where you don’t have a boss to answer to.

You need to be dedicated to working from home. There are a lot of distractions that will try to keep you from your work. It is very easy to realize that you didn’t get anything accomplished at the end of the day.

You need to be self-motivated, especially if you have your own business. You are the only one who can make you get up and get to work. The best way to do this is to set goals and start working toward them.

You need to have discipline. It can be very hard not to sit around in your pajamas all day watching television. You are going to have to shut out all of the distractions that are going on around you so that you can sit and get your work done.

You have to have a passion for your business (or working from home). You need to enjoy doing what you are doing or you will have trouble getting much accomplished. This is especially true if you are selling something. You really need to believe in it so others will too.

You need to be organized. This not only applies to your house and workspace. Your whole life needs to be organized to run smoothly.

You need to have time management skills. You are going to have to be very smart with your time in order to try to get everything done.

You need to have a drive to succeed. You may have only one or two of these skills, but you have enough drive that you will still be able to work from home. You have to really want to succeed at your business in order to put the necessary time and effort into making it work.

You are the only person who is going to be able to decide whether or not you are going to be able to work from home and do it well. Not everyone can and there is nothing wrong with admitting that you can’t work from home. Better to know now than after a few months of struggling in your business.

I hope that you enjoyed these chapters. Work From Home: Can You Do It All? is available on Amazon and Smashwords.
