I have taken a week or so to try to decide how I want to proceed with my writing business.

Though I wish I could make more money with my ebooks, I am going to have to find a way to get a steady income. I have started back at BlogMutt which is a breath of fresh air after my last writing job! I need to get back into a good rhythm with writing there and we should be good to go.

It is good to evaluate your business and your goals occasionally. You should at least do this once a year, though it can be helpful to do it more often.

Here are some reasons to evaluate and re-evaluate your business and goals.

  • Make sure that you still enjoy your business. It is important that you are happy with your jobs and what you are accomplishing. If you are not, you should make some changes. I should have probably done this several months ago, though it can be hard to give up a steady income.
  • Make sure that you are making enough money. There are going to be times when you need to work harder to ensure that you are reaching your monetary goals. If you can’t make enough money, it might not be worth keeping your business open.
  • Ensure that you are spending enough time with your family. There are going to be some jobs that are just not worth the money, especially when it takes over your life. I ended up working constantly, being with my family, but not too much. Though I didn’t end it, I should have!

It is really important to evaluate your business occasionally so you are happy! If not, it is time for a change – you and your family deserve it!
